The funeral of the little Twins Robert and Richard of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidt who died of spinal meningitis, was held last Friday from the home and from the German Lutheran church northeast of Hull.

Henry Schmidt Dies Sunday p.m.. Henry Schmidt, a resident of Rock Rapids for the last nine years, died Sunday night in the local hospital. Mr. Schmidt has been in failing health for four months and seriously ill the past month. Born in Germany on October 23, 1882, he was a farmer prior to moving to Rock Rapids where he entered the Winter home on South Third Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., at the Louie Hinsch home near George with services at the St. Paul's Lutheran church near Hull at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Kenyon will officiate and burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lockwood Funeral Home. A complete obituary will appear in the next issue of The Reporter.

Henry Schmidt Rites Are Held Wednesday P.M. Funeral services for Henry Schmidt, who died Sunday night in the Rock Rapids hospital were held Wednesday at the Louie Hinsch home near George at 1:30 and at St. Paul's Lutheran church near Hull at 2 p. m. The Rev. Paul Kenyon officiated with burial in the church cemetery. Born in Germany Oct. 23, 1882, Mr. Schmidt was brought to this country when only six months old. His family settled near Hull where in later years he engaged in farming. Nine years ago, he came to Rock Rapids and entered the Winter home on South Third Avenue. He had been in failing health for four months and seriously ill for the past month.

He is survived by a brother, William of Bushnell, S. D.: three sisters, Mary, Mrs. Herman Schlombohm; Anna, Mrs. Albert Gust?; and Meta, Mrs. Henry Hollander of South Dakota; three sons, Albert and Elmer, both of Luverne and Arthur of Weeping Water, Nebr.; a daughter, Matilda, Mrs. Louie Hinsch of George; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Four children preceded him in death. Arrangements were by Lockwood Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

Research note: from a family history (by others) Peter Heinrich Schmidt born 23 Oct 1882 Baljedorf Germany died 13 oct 1957 Rock Rapids IA, son of Johann Friedrich Schmidt 1850-1909 and Ann Sophie Ahlf 1854-1935, children were – Albert 1909, Rudolph 1910, Alfred 1912, Mathide 1913, Elmer 1917, Arthur 1919, Vernon 1925, Richard 1926-1927 and Robert 1926-1927. His wife was Anna Katherine Maria Schuett 1887-1971. She later (in 1929) married Henry F. Sohl.
