Sturgeon, Robert died 18 Mar 1891 age 80 yrs wife Margaret buried in Greenwood Cemetery Matlock IA. The papers of Sioux and Lyon county were gleaned for death notices of the three Sturgeons buried in Matlock but none was found.

Find a Grave lists Robert Sturgeon born 1811 died 18 Mar 1891 buried in Greenwood cemetery Matlock IA wife Margaret Sturgeon, child Thomas Sturgeon.
In the 1870 census Robert Sturgeon age 57 born abt 1813 and wife Margaret were living in Fillmore county MN. They had son Thomas Sturgeon.

In the 1860 census of Fillmore County MN Robt Sturgin 48 abt 1812, wife Margaret 50, Ann 23, Margaret 22, Robt 16, Mary 12, and Thos. 10.

Research note: Found on ancestry.com a family of Robert Sturgeon who’s data matches this family pretty well. Robert James Sturgeon born 1813 Belfast Ireland died Indiana??(incorrect as died in Matlock IA 18 Mar 1891) Wife Margaret Davison born about 1810. Children Anne 1836-1914, Margaret 1838, Robert James 1844-1880, Mary Jane 1847-1923 and Thomas Sturgeon 1850 no further info.
