GOOD WOMAN PASSES AWAY--MRS. FRANK VOVERKA CALLED FROM EARTH BY HER MAKER

Mrs. Frank Voverka passed away at her home in this city last Sunday evening after an illness covering many months. During her long suffering she bore her trial with great patience and fortitude and was ever solicitous for the comfort and welfare of her family and those about her.

Her maiden name was Nancy Bell and she was born at Davenport, this state, December 22, 1859. On March 7, 1877, she was united in marriage to Frank Voverka. They made their home at Keokuk for two years, afterwards residing in Marshall and Grundy counties, coming to Sioux County in 1887. For many years they resided on a farm three miles south of Hawarden. Then Mrs. Voverka’s health began to fail and they came to this city to make their home. Sorrow came early into the home through the death of the first born and only son, Georgie, who died in 1883, at the age of twenty months.

Mrs. Voverka is survived by her husband and four daughters. The children are Mrs. Elvin Green, Mrs. Roscoe Dick and Miss Maud Voverka, all of Hawarden, and Mrs. John Warner of Canton. She also leaves four sisters and two brothers.

The funeral was held Tuesday from the Presbyterian Church. Reverend V.A. Weir preaching the funeral sermon. Mrs. Voverka unites with the Presbyterian Church and Conrad, this state, in 1882, and upon coming to Hawarden unites with this church here.
