Died: September 27, 1981Floyd Vermaat, 75, of Granville, Michigan passed away on Sunday, September 27, in a Granville Hospital. Mr. Vermaat was a former Orange City Citian.
John Vermaat left for Granville to attend the funeral of his father which was held there on Wednesday, September 30.
The body was brought to Orange City for burial and a funeral service was held at the Van Gelder Funeral Home on Friday morning and interment was in Westlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Vermaat was born and raised at Rock Valley. He married Edith Zevenbergen in 1928. She died in October 1958 at Orange City. He married Dena Haupert in 1961. She died in 1974 at Granville, Michigan.
Surviving are four children; three sons, Pete of Grand Rapids, Michigan, John of Orange City, Iowa, Donald of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Joan) Dorais of San Pedro, California. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
