Mrs. John Ver Hoef (Kate Kolthof) passed away Friday, April 30 at 9:45 at a local hospital following an operation for strangulated abdominal hernia. She had attained the age of 69 years, 4 months and 15 days.

She was born in the Netherlands December 15, 1867 and came to America when 14 years of age.

On November 6, 1889 she was married to John Ver Hoef. In 1924 they moved to Orange City.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, Walter Ver Hoef of Sioux Falls, William J. Ver Hoef of Archer; Ben Ver Hoef, Ida, Mrs. John Tirnmer, Kathryn Ver Hoef all of Orange City; Percy Ver Hoef of Sanborn, and John Ver Hoef, Jr. of Orange City.

She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Henry De Gooyer of Orange City and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Trinity Reformed Church with the Reverend Mr. J.G. Brouwer officiating. Interment was in the local cemetery.
