ALLYN, WA—Dale D. Walker, 74, Allyn, WA, died peacefully Sept. 29, 2019, at Hearthside Manor in University Place, WA.
Dale was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Bremerton, WA, the son of Darwin and Loris Walker.
He grew up on a farm east of Ireton. Dale graduated from West Sioux High School in 1963 and served as a medic in the army stationed in Vietnam from 1966-68. Dale obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Long Beach State University, worked for Western Airlines for several years then decided that carpentry was more suited to him. He worked for Tacoma Boat for many years. Dale was a gifted carpenter, having built the house he and Deanna raised their kids in.
Dale and Deanna were married for 20 years and continued to be friends until he passed. They had two children, Danny and Denise. Although he had struggles in life, Dale’s latter years were filled with family and love. Dale was a terrific grandpa to Alex and Anna, was always willing to help with their care and enjoyed attending their events. Dale enjoyed the outdoors, taking walks, spending time with the family and looked forward to his visits with his best friend Larry Barents and their road trips back to Iowa for high school reunions. Ice Cream and milk shakes never failed to put a smile on his face.
Dale is survived by his son Daniel (Danny); daughter Denise; granddaughters Alex and Anna; his sister Sue (Alan) Sandvig; nieces and nephews; cousins; and his best friends Danna Walker and Larry Barents.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, mother and grandparents.
