Peter Schwartz Dies after Month’s illness Buried in Hull Monday.
Peter C. Schwartz was born July 10, 1882 in Rock Valley IA. He was baptized in infancy After being instructed in the Way of Salvation he was confirmed in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church near Hull, March 29, 1896. February 21, 1907 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Gust. For two years they farmed near Inwood and Hull, and for ten years near Doon. Being as industrious and hard working man he was able to buy the farm in 1918, where he lived until his death. On Jan 29 he took sick with pneumonia. Although he was seriously ill from the start, he lived until February 14, passing away at about eleven o’clock in the evening at the age of 46 years, 7 months and 4 days.
He leaves to mourn his early departure his sorrowing wife and son Earl, his wife and one grandchild in Chicago, his sister Mrs. Mattie Sayles at Mitchell SD, His brother Henry at Ellsworth MN, his sister Mary Schwartz, his brother John Schwartz and his sister Mrs. Emma Peterson at Doon and other relatives friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the house and Immanuel church of which church the deceased was a member since living on his present place, and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. H. Mueller With Mr. E. H. Mueller at the organ the following sang two appropriate funeral anthems. Paul bearer listed… In spite of the cold weather and bad roads the funeral services were largely attended. Burial was made in the cemetery of St. Paul’s Lutheran church of Hull.
