Died: September 7, 1941Mrs. Aaltje "Ellie" Van Stryland passed away Sunday September 7 at the home of her daughter Mrs. C.A. Samuelson of Sheldon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday September 7 at 1:15 at the home of Dr. C.A. Samuelson and at 2 o'clock in the First Reformed Church at Boyden.
She was born on January 12, 1859 at Armelo, Holland. Having been ill for some time with infirmities due to old age.
Mrs. Van Stryland was a daughter of Gerrit Vande Brink and lived with her parents in the Netherlands until after her marriage to Gysbert Van Stryland. After coming to America they lived in and around Boyden.
She is survived by her three daughters and one son, Mrs. John De Mots of Holland, Michigan, Gerrit Van Stryland of Orange City, Mrs. N.D. Lowry of Sioux City and Mrs. C.A. Samuelson of Sheldon.
Other relatives surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Herbert Boender of Boyden, Mrs. Will Rouwenhorst of Hospers, Ed Vande Brink of Sheldon and Gerrit Vande Brink of Boyden, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Van Stryland was a charter member of the First Reformed Church of Boyden. Reverend J.W. Brink officiated. Burial was at the Boyden Cemetery.
