Abraham G. "Abe" Van Roekel was born January 28, 1906, son of Geurt and Hattie (Vande Berg) Van Roekel.

He married Maatje "Martha" Van Wyk on June 25, 1932, at Sioux Center. The couple farmed near Sioux Center until moving near Beaver Creek, Minnesota, in 1942.

They retired from farming in 1968 and moved to Valley Springs.

On Saturday, May 9, Mr. and Mrs. Art De Goei attended the funeral of her brother, Abraham G. "Abe" Van Roekel, at Valley Springs.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Vander Stoep, Mr. and Mrs. Gil De Goei and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Van Driel also attended the funeral.
