F. B. Schutz, Prominent Granville Realtor Passes on at 85; Funeral Wednesday
F. B. Schutz, well know Granville realtor, died Monday morning, April 15 th at his home following a brief illness. A resident of Granville for forty years, he was favorably known throughout the county. Although he -had reached the age of 85 he continued active in bis business. His cheerful and lively disposition endeared him to many friends and he will be greatly missed in the community. Mr. Schutz was born Dec, 19, 1871 in Belgium and came to this country when a young lad. He was married Feb. 1, 1911 at Dunnington, Ind. to Miss Mary Niichel, who survives him, together with 1 son, Jerome of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters: Bernadette, Mrs. Merlin Youngers of San Diego, Calif.; Helen, Mrs. Clair Driscoll of of Concord, Calif.; Marian, Mrs. Robert Thorpe of Ames, Iowa; Kathleen, Mrs. A.K. Herndon of Burbank, Calif.; 7 granddaughters and 4 grandsons; 1 sister, Mrs. Selina Karhoff of Pocahontas, Iowa. Mr. Schutz wa s a charter member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and active in church and community affairs. All the family were at Granville for the services Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in St Joseph's church. Officiating at the solemn requiem mass were a nephew, Rev. Harold Karhoff of Pocahontas; a great nephew, Rev. Harold Cooper of Moville, and Rev. N.J. Becker of Granville. Pallbearers for their friend were Peter Gaul, Ray Schmmel George Bormann, Norbert Goergen, Chris Thorman, Leo Reistoffer.
