Funeral services for Gerrit Van Pykeren, 88, of Hull were held Monday at First Christian Reformed Church, Hull, with interment in Hope Cemetery, He died Thursday, April 30, 1992, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Mr. Van Pykeren was born January 26, 1904, at Perkins. He was raised in the Hull area. On February 14, 1930, he married Dena Hubers at Hull. They lived in Hull their entire married life. In May, 1989, they became residents of Pleasant Acres.

He owned and operated a livestock truck. He then owned and drove a tank wagon for Hull Co-op Gas & Oil Company and later for DeJong Oil Company. More recently, he was a partner with Fred Van Schepen in Van's Implement.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull where he had served on the consistory as an elder and a deacon. He also belonged to the Men's Society of the Church. In addition he had been a member of the board of directors of the Hull Christian School.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Vern (Joyce) Vander Well of Hull; one son, Gerard "Pike" of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Gert Spronk of Edgerton, Minnesota, and Mrs. John (Mathilda) Wolfswinkel of Hills,
Minnesota.
