Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M., Friday for John C. Van Oosbree, 77, retired Sioux Center electrician, who died August 22, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Richard De Ridder and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mr. Van Oosbree was born in the Netherlands February 29, 1890. He cane to the United States as a young man and settled near Middleburg where he farmed until moving into Sioux Center in 1920. He was married to Marie Van Velven December 12, 1917. He operated an electrical shop here for many years prior to his retirement a few years ago.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Chris of Emmetsburg, Cornie of Hometown, Illinois and John Jr., of Grand Island, Nebraska; three daughters, Mrs. William Staub of Evergreen Park, Illinois, Mrs. Charles Gortsema of Granville, Idaho, and Mrs. Jim Bogaard of Rock Valley; 42 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
