SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR MRS. ANNETTE VAN MEEVEREN

Memorial services for Mrs. Annette Van Meeveren were held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, at Trinity Reformed Church, with Reverend Charles J. Boonstra in charge. A short service at Mrs. Van Meeveren’s home, 202 South Prairie, preceded the church service. A quartet, composed of Howard Lyon, Alfred Aalberts, Mrs. Dale Hubers and Mrs. Henry Vande Berg sang.

Mrs. Van Meeveren suffered a stroke the middle of November and had lived with her daughter, Mrs. D. Vander Pol, until the first of March, when she went to the home of another daughter, Mrs. William Leemkuil, in Sibley. Her death came unexpectedly on Thursday, May 10.

Annette Fredriks was born January 12, 1881, at Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johannes and Diederika (Vanden Burg) Fredriks. She was married to Cornelius Van Meeveren on August 30, 1899. He preceded her in death December 29, 1925. To this union five children were born--Edith, Mrs. Harry Jasper of Hospers; Bernice, Mrs. Dowie Vander Pol, Alton; Arthur, who died in 1951; Marcella, Mrs. William Leemkuil, Little Rock, Iowa; Lois, Mrs. William Vogelaar, Long Beach, California.

Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death. One sister, Josie, Mrs. H. Nieuenhuis, San Diego, California, survives her, also nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her six grandsons served as pallbearers--Marion Vander Pol, Glen Jasper, Vernon Vrieze, Marion Posthumus, Dwight Leemkuil, and Stuart Van Meeveren. Burial was made in the Alton Cemetery.
