JACOB VAN KEKERIX

Funeral service for the late Jacob Van Kekerix, who died on January 22 at the home of his son, S.J. Van Kekerix, were held on January 26, from the Old Reformed Church. Pallbearers were Peter De Bruin, D. Rozeboom, J. Baker, C. Blom, J. Surksum and E. Van Ginkel.

Born in The Netherlands in 1866, he married Miss Agnes Vanderpye there in the year 1900. She died four years later and in 1911 Mr. Van Kekerix came to the United States with his sister, the late Mrs. C. Rozeboom. In 1918, he married Mrs. H.G. Sinning of Lennox, South Dakota, a widow who had five children. They lived on the farm west of town for one year and then moved to Rock Valley where he stayed until three years ago, then going to the home of his son, S.J. southwest of town. His second wife died in 1923.

He is survived by one son and one brother, Jim; by two sisters, Mrs. Jake Van Noort and Mrs. Hoogeboeren, the latter still residing in the Netherlands; also by two grandchildren; five stepchildren and eleven step-grandchildren.
