Mrs. Pearl Cambier, age 87, of Alton, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Orange City Area Health System.

A private family interment will take place at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Pearl was born on May 26, 1932, in Le Mars, the daughter of John G. and Rena (Huls) Ahrendsen. She was raised in Le Mars, where she graduated from the Le Mars Central High School.

On December 12, 1951, she married Leland Lorne Cambier in Le Mars. They made their home in Le Mars; San Clemente, California; and Alton. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a waitress and housekeeper, and worked at a dress shop and the Alton City Library. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and collecting dolls. Leland passed away on November 17, 2007, in Orange City, after more than 55 years of marriage.

Survivors include her three children, Larry Cambier, and his wife, Nancy, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Wanda, and her husband, Eric Highberger, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Steve Cambier, of Alton; two grandchildren, Brent Cambier, and Michelle, and her husband Tracy Dolan, all of Sioux Falls; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Roger and Judy Cambier, of Alton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law and his wife, Paul and Eleanor Cambier.
