Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 6, for Bart Van Donge, 78, prominent Sioux Center farmer and dairyman, who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital May 3 after a lingering illness.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Richard De Ridder and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Van Donge was born June 11, 1896, son of Peter and Maggie (Nauta) Van Donge, at Dispatch, Kansas and attended school and grew to young manhood in that community. He was married to Hattie Lammers of Sioux Center March 13, 1918. The couple had since made their home on a farm southwest of Sioux Center.

Survivors include the widow; two sons - Richard and Herman, both of Sioux Center, Iowa; two daughters - Florence (Mrs. Albert Hooyer) of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Henrietta (Mrs. John Dibbet) of Maurice, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; five sisters - Mrs. Jane Koops, Mrs. Bertha Koops and Mrs. Elizabeth De Raad, all of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Mary Spaid of Lebanon, Kansas, and Mrs. Ralph (Kate) Lammers of Sioux Center, Iowa; three brothers - Dan of Soldier, Kansas, Paul of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Ed of Ireton, Iowa.
