Florence Vande Steeg Granger, 86 years old, of Los Angeles, California, died April 7, 1977 of a short illness of cancer.

Florence Granger, daughter of John and Mary (Pas) Vande Steeg was born September 30, 1890 in Orange City.

She graduated from Northwestern Academy in Orange City in 1908. She attended two years of classes at Drake University in Des Moines and one year at Iowa State University at Ames.

She married Merrill Granger and they lived in Des Moines. Later they moved to Los Angeles, California, where Merrill practiced law. They have two sons, Gordon and John.

Florence Granger was very active in her church. She was a member of the Choral Society of the Ebell Club.

Survivors include: Gordon, who is vice president and chief attorney of Stuart Title Guarantee Company of Houston, Texas; John, a judge practicing in Santa Barbara, California; and five grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Vande Steeg of Los Angeles, California, and Dorothy Hanser of St. Louis, Missouri.

A committal service was held in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City at 2 p.m. April 25, 1977 with Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in charge. Dr. C. Rynbrandt, pastor of the American Reformed Church of Orange City officiated at the graveside service.

Memorial services were held Monday at 4 p.m., April 11, 1977 in the sanctuary of the church, Religious Science of Beverly Hills, California. Reverend W. Hart officiated.
