FUNERAL WAS HELD TUESDAY--JOHN VANDER WILT, 65, WAS BORN IN ORANGE CITY

John Vander Wilt a resident of this vicinity passed away at the De Bey Hospital on Saturday evening at 8:20 o'clock, after being a patient there since Wednesday, receiving treatment for diabetes and cancer of the stomach.

He was born in Orange City in 1876, son of Hendrik and Cornelia (Werkhoven) Vander Wilt and grew to manhood here, working as a cream hauler for the local creamery and making his home with his sister, Mrs. M. Vander Poel and her husband at Boyden.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. De Kraay on Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock and at the Trinity Reformed Church at 1:30 with Reverend J.G. Brouwer in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Orange City Cemetery, his nephews being pallbearers.

He is survivor by one brother, Arnold Vander Wilt of Ocheyedan, and two sisters: Sophia. Mrs. H. De Kraay of Orange City and Hattie, Mrs. M. Vander Poel of Boyden.
