Peter Vander Schaaf Laid To Rest Monday

In the early morning of June 19, Mr. Peter Vander Schaaf slept away into eternal rest, after suffered from a heart ailment for many years.

Mr. Vander Schaaf was born in the Netherlands on September 8, 1887 and came to this country at the age of 21. He married Jane Vane Pykeren in 1915.

Preceding him in death were a daughter Janet, also his father, mother, four brothers and one sister, all of the Netherlands.

He is survived by the widow and three children, namely: Margaret, Mrs. Fred Van Engen; Dowie Vander Schaaf; Gerdena, Mrs. Tom Van Maanen and three grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Herman Jansma of Grand Rpaids, Michigan.

Funeral services were held on June 23 at the Protestanst Reformed Church with Student Mr. G. Lanting officiaiting. Burial was made in Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Mrs. Willis Nyenhuis, Mr. Gerrit Nyenhuis, Mr. Preston De Jongh, Mr. Gerrit A. Spronk, Mr. Henry Spronk and Mr. Bernard Spronk.
