T-5 Alphonse Bueltel, son of Mrs. B.A. Bueltel of Granville, was killed in action in France August 29, according to a message from the war department received Wednesday by Mrs. Bueltel. The young man's father, the late Barney Bueltel, died suddenly July 18, and the soldier's mother and family have the sympathy of all in this second tragedy.

The soldier was 34 years old August 24 and is survived by his mother, one brother, Pfc. Emil in New Guinea, and by nine sisters.

Granville, Iowa:
Alphonse Bueltel, technician fifth grade, son of Mrs. B.H. Bueltel of Granville, was killed in action in France on August 29, according to official world from the war department. He entered the service on March 21, 1942 and left for overseas on December 21, 1943. Survivors include his mother at Granville, two brothers and nine sisters. Memorial services were held at Granville Tuesday.
