Aalt Vander Maaten, 69, passed away at the home of his brother, John Vander Maaten with whom he lived, on Monday, March 7, at 4 o'clock A.M. after a brief illness.

He was born at Overeyzel, Kamperveen, The Netherlands. In 1885 he came to America with his parents and other members of the family and they settled in Sioux County in the Boyden vicinity.

He is survived by four brothers and two sisters. The brothers are John of Orange City, Bert, Frank and Gerrit of near Boyden. Sisters are Jennie, Mrs. Ben Koerselman of George and Stella, Mrs. John Vander Laan of Maurice.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church with Reverend Mr. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment will be made in the Middleburg Cemetery.
