Services Today For Former Resident

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Bertha Vander Lugt, 89, who passed away Monday, July 3, at Brookfield, Illinois. The services will take place in the Hawarden Christian Reformed Church with Reverend Bert Vanden Brink officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Belia "Baaltje" Van Duijn was born November 17, 1877, in The Netherlands, and came to the United States at approximately 20 years of age. She lived in the Hawarden vicinity until moving to Brookfield 12 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian, in 1947.

Survivors are one son, Gerrit, two daughters, Gertrude and Elizabeth, all of Chicago, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Van Gelderman of California, Mrs. Arie Vander Meer of Le Mars, and Mrs. Susie De Bruin of Sheldon, and 10 grandchildren.
