Died: May 5, 1954Winant Vander Kamp, former Hospers merchant and resident, died suddenly at Sheldon, Wednesday at the age of 76 years. His daughter and family Lt. and Mrs. Lester Grau and sons had left the same morning for their home in Texas after a visit at the parental home.
Surviving are his wife, and two daughters, Mrs. Grau of Texas, and Mrs. Elmer Doornink of Aberdeen, Washington, one son, Melvin of Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and one daughter, Beatrice.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home in Sheldon, and at the First Reformed Church in Hospers, with burial in the Hospers Cemetery.
Note: Winant married Effie Dyksterhuis. Winant and Effie are the parents of Tillie Beatrice, Edsko Melvin, Elizabeth Anne, and Elta Winona.
After Effie's death Winant married Gertie (Dekker) Vos.
