From the Sioux County Index (Hull), March 22, 1935:

Baby of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Dykstra Died Tues. Night

The eight months old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Dykstra of Perkins died Tuesday night. The little one had not been well from birth. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the home in Perkins, with Rev. L. Vermeer in charge. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

His death certificate has Johaanes [Johannes?] Dykstra; born July 19, 1934 in Iowa; parents Ed Dykstra, born in Holland, and Henrietta Vis, born in Iowa; died at Perkins, Iowa at 4:00 a.m. March 20, 1935; cause, hydrocephalus and spina bufida.
