Funeral services were held at Central Reformed Church here at 10 A.M. Wednesdy, July 3, for Douwe Vander Berg, 69, retired Piano-Organ dealer, and a longtime resident of Sioux Center , who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital early July 1, several days after suffering a stroke.

Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Albert H. Ten Clay and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mr. Vander Berg was born at Le Mars, Iowa, October 8, 1898, son of Epke and Sentina (Van Dalfsen) Vander Berg.

He was married here to Grace Beernink and two daughters were born to this union.

Many years ago Mr. Vander Berg was associated with his brother, John, in the operation of the Horseshoe Garage. He also farmed for a time with his brother, and later the two went into the Piano-Organ business.

Survivors besides his widow; two daughters, Eleanor (Mrs. Leland Roetman) of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Marilyn (Mrs. Norman Den Hartog) of Storm Lake, Iowa; three brothers - John E. of Sioux Center, Iowa, Dick E. of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Dr. Edward of Holland, Michigan; three sisters - Elsie (Mrs. Dan Dykstra) of Trosky, Minnesota, Mrs. John Gritters (Bess) of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Etta (Mrs. Fred Aue) of Sioux Center, Iowa.
