Mrs. Jake Tillema (nee Niesje Kleinjan) was fatally injured in an automobile accident last Wednesday while enroute to her home after attending her mother’s funeral at Hospers last week Tuesday.

The car in which Mr. and Mrs. Tillema and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tillema were returning home went into the ditch about 10 miles north of Pipestone, Minnesota. The others had minor cuts and bruises but Mrs. Niesje Tilleema was paralyzed from the hips down. Her injuries were not considered so serious, however, but while her husband was adjusting her to a more comfortable position she suddenly passed on at 7 o’clock Friday morning.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob “Jake” and five sons and a daughter, the youngest a girl of 6. The oldest boy is 18 years old. She was married to Jake Tillema at Newkirk and they lived there for a few years before moving to Castlewood, South Dakota.

Funeral services at Castlewood were held Monday, many friends attending the sad services. Mrs. Tillema died at the farm house where she was taken, near the scene of the fatal accident.
