Lambert Vander Grift passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Art Eenkhoorn at Sioux Center on Thursday afternoon August 27, 1942 at the age of 78 years following a lingering illness due to heart complications.

Mr. Vander Grift was born in The Netherlands on July 22, 1864 and in 1902 he was united in marriage to Mrs.Scholten to which union three children were born, one of whom passed away in infancy.

Survivors include Mrs. Art Eenkhoorn and Henry Vander Grift, both of Sioux Center and Gerrit John and Henry Scholten at Steen, Minnesota, John and Martha Scholten in Holland, also 24 gradchildren.

Funeral services were held from the First Reformed Church on Monday afternoon with Reverend Brunsting officiating. Acting as pallbearers were William Mouw, P. Bosch, Bert Jansen, Gerrit Bleyenberg, Gerrit Vander Kamp and Clarence Statema. Interment was in the Sioux Center Cemetery.
