Anthony VanDen Berg of Hull was born September 7, 1875 and passed away January 20, 1948, at the age of 72 years.

He was born in The Netherlands, and on April 2, 1902, he was united in marriage to Maria Jansen, who preceded him in death in February, 1943.

They were the parents of five children, one a daughter, Christina, who died in infancy. Two grandchildren also preceded him in death in August, 1939.

In October, 1947 he underwent a major operation in the Sheldon Hospital. He recovered enough to be able to leave the hospital to go to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Vis in Hull.

Surviving are four children, Johanna (Mrs. P. Vis) of Hull, Alice (Mrs. John Den Hartog) of Orange City, Chris of Boyden, and Anthonette (Mrs. John Van Surksum) of Artesia, California. There are 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother in The Netherlands.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vis, and at the Reformed Church of Hull, with Reverend J. Hanenberg officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery.
