Rodney "Rocky" Barnum, 84, of Hawarden, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019. Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Sportsman's Lane & Lounge in Hawarden. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden immediately following the service. Rocky’s celebration of life will continue after the burial at 105 8th Street.

Rocky was born on October 29, 1934 in Hawarden to William "Bud" and Claire "Clara" (Bryson) Barnum.

Rocky worked at Don's Ready Mix for twenty-seven years and Joe's Ready Mix for twenty years, retiring in 2004. He was known to be somewhat of a "jack of all trades," even building wooden sheds without using any power tools.

Survivors include his brother, Darold Barnum of Hawarden; nephews Donald “Joe” Barnum of Tampa, Florida, Troy Barnum of Littleton, Colorado, niece, Tammy Flittie and husband Bob of Fremont, Nebraska; and nephew Jason Barnum of Gillette, Wyoming; grandnieces, Elizabeth, Mariah, and Hailly; grandnephews, Andrew, Hunter, Keegan, Jacob, and Logan; and his beloved cat, Poncho.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Frank and Donald Barnum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
