Wayne Sylvester Waterman, 46, who was hospitalized a week at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, died there Tuesday. The funeral will be at 2 o'clock Friday at the Barnard Funeral Home with burial in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Waterman was born October 19, 1918, a son of Marvin and Elsie (Garkie) Waterman, Sr., of Hawarden.

He married Daisy Irene Strong of Hawarden on June 2, 1939. They celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. His occupation was that of a trucker.

Survivors include the widow; his parents, residing here; eight sons: Richard of Sioux City, Dennis of Paullina, Bruce of Hawarden and Larry, David, Rodney, Terry and Darvin, at home; four brothers: Nolan, Raymond and Kurt, all of Waterloo and Merlyn of Hawarden; five sisters: Mrs. Henry (Opal) Rankin of Laurens, Mrs. Frances Droege of California, and Mrs. Audrey Brice, Mrs. Henry (Naomi) Schwiesow and Mrs. Johnnie (Wanda) Blankenship, all of Hawarden, and five grandchildren.
