From the Sioux County Index (Hull), December 1, 1933:

Charles Quinn, Former Hull Boy, Late of Elkton, Dies

Charles Quinn, 26 years old, youngest son of Mr. A. J. Quinn of Elkton, South Dakota, died at the Millan [i.e., Miller] Hospital at St. Paul, Minnesota, Saturday, November 25, 1933, on the 47th wedding anniversary of his parents.

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Quinn lived on a farm four and one half miles north of Hull when they were first married, and later moved to Larchwood where Charles was born. The Quinns moved to Elkton, South Dakota, later, where Charles grew to manhood. He was a cousin of Angelo Quinn of Hull, and also Matt and Arthur Wier of Sheldon, Iowa, and Bud Quinn of Woodstock, Minnesota. He was a nephew of Mrs. M. J. Quinn of Algona, Iowa.

Charles was a young man of sterling qualities and was loved by his parents and all who knew him.

Minnesota death certificate no. 1933-MN-025119: Charles V. Quinn, resident of Elkton, S.D.; single; born June 15, 1907 at Larchwood, Iowa; parents Anatin[?] J. Quinn, born in Clinton, Iowa, and Margaret Slavin, born in Shullsburg, Wisconsin; informant, Alvin Quinn, Elkton, S.D.; a farmer, doing general farm work; died in Miller Hospital, St. Paul, at 12:50 p.m. November 25, 1933; cause, urethral stricture, duration 12 years; contributory cause, pneumonia, duration 24 hours; operated on for stricture of urethra on November 24, 1933; an autopsy was performed; buried at Elkton, S.D. A physician’s note on the back of the certificate says “No gonorrhea involved – no history of injury. Probably was congenital.”
