From the Rock Valley Bee, May 25, 1934:

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bastemeyer and Mrs. Henry J. Vande Weerd left last week Wednesday for Waupun, Wis., being called there by the accidental death of Mrs. Henry Vis, who, with her family, was a former resident of Rock Valley. A dispatch from a Waupun paper gives the following account of the accident: Mrs. Henry Vis of Alto died in a Waupun hospital Monday morning a few hours after the car in which she was riding with her husband and four children collided with another. The accident occurred about two miles from Alto on County Highway E. Mrs. Vis was the only one injured. She is survived by six children.
