VanderPloeg, Sarah nee Postema born 29 Sep 1863 died 30 May 1896 buried in Valley View Cemetery Rock Valley IA.

Note: in a report on ancestry.com (by others) Tjetske ‘Sarah’ Gerkes Postema was born Sep 29, 1896 at Red Rock IA, her parents were Gerke Dirk Postema and mother was Siebertje Leegsma. She was married to Dirk Annes Vander Ploeg on March 10, 1885 in Marion Co. IA. They had four children during their marriage she died as a young mother on May 27, 1896 Orange City IA and is buried in Rock Valley IA. Their children were Bertha 1887, Gary Edward 1890-1941, Bryan 1892 and Benjamin 1893.

Mrs. D. Van der Ploeg. Mrs. D. Van der Ploeg departed this life Wednesday as the midnight hour was close at hand, after a long and painful illness of nervous prostration. She was the daughter of H. Postma and leaves a father, mother, husband, three children, six brothers to mourn her loss . At the time of her death she was 33 years old and had been married about 10 years. The deceased was a true Christian, a loving wife, a fond and affectionate mother, truly devoted to her children and her home. The funeral will occur today at the Holland church and will be conducted by the M.W.A., of which her husband was a member. Rock Valley Register 1896-05-29.
