Charles F. Wagner Jr. 67, of McCune, Kansas, and formerly of Ireton, Iowa, died on Wednesday, September 21, 1994, a hospital in Girard, Kansas.

Services were held on Saturday morning at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa, the Reverend Perry Schefelker of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton, officiating. Burial was at Peace Lutheran Cemetery rural Sioux Center.

Mr. Wagner was born December 10, 1926, at Turin, the son of Charles F. Sr. and Iva E. (Rhodes) Wagner. He attended schools in Iowa and lived in McCune since 1972. On December 10, 1947, he married Betty K. Gradert at Hawarden, Iowa. She died February 14, 1992. Mr. Wagner farmed near Ireton and later as a laborer; he was most recently employed as a security guard, retiring in 1993 due to poor health.

Mr. Wagner was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Parsons, Kansas.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Gary and Christina of Reading, Minnesota; his mother Iva E. Wagner of Watervliet, Michigan; four brothers: Rex of Carl Junction, Missouri, Ray of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Roger of Fremont, Nebraska, and Mickey of D’lberville, Mississippi; a sister, Doris Thurston of Watervliet; two grandsons; a step-grandson; and a step-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Charles H. Wagner in 1991; and a sister, Mildred Wagner.
