Born Jan 19, 1815 Ermelo/Nunspeet, Gelderland Netherlands to Aart Hendriks Schuiteman and Jentje Gerrits. He had two children Gerrit and Aart Schutieman. See the obit of his wife Eibertje Ponstein Schuiteman 1828-1891

1885 census Jan Schuiteman was 70 years born Holland was living in West Branch Tsp Sioux County IA. His wife Eibertje was 57 years, son Gerrit was 19 and Aart was 22 years all born Holland

After more than a week of sickness he calmly and gently entered into the rest, which is left for the people of God. For years he was allowed to speak and enjoy life, that he possessed Jesus and built his hope on his redemption. For nine years it has been since our mother happily went to him in peace.
