Pohlen, Margaret Mrs. Joseph born 20 Apr 1851 died 23 Oct 1921 mother buried in St. Anthony’s cemetery Hospers IA.

Death record lists parents as Peter Pitz and Velana Minz.

The Alton Democrat of Oct 29 1921 carried the obit of Mrs. Jos. Pohlen however the printing was so blurred it can’t be made out well but tried….

Mrs. Jos. Pohlen dies at age of 72 years.
Mrs. Jos. Pohlen on of Sioux county’s pioneers died at her home at Hospers on Sunday Oct 22,. She had been suffering from Diabetes for almost a year. Mrs. Pohlen was born in Prussia (GermanY) She was 72 years, 7 months and three days of age at the time of her death. The funeral was held from St. Anthony’s Catholic church of which she was a devoted member.

She is survived by her husband and six children. Will of Estherville, Henry of Madison MN, John of Wabash MN, Mrs. Albert Jemming of Hospers, Mrs. Joe Subilly? Of St. Leo, MN and Joseph Jr. of Hospers. The Democat joins in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
