J. Marinus Pitlo Sr. 92 of Hull, died Saturday Dec 22, 1990 at Pleasant Acres Care Center In Hull. Services were held Wednesday Dec 26 1990 at Kraai Oolman Funeral Home in Hull with the Rev. John Den Hoed of the Netherlands Reformed church in Rock Valley Officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center. Mr. pitlo was born May 9, 1898 in Elst, the Netherlands the son of Johannes Marinus and Rijke Roks Pitlo. He was raised in the Netherlands and lived there until the age of 50. On Nov 27, 1940 he married Maria Van Roekel in the Netherlands. In 1948 the couple moved to the USA. They first lived at Alvord where he assisted farmers. He then was employed at bakeries in Orange City, Rock Rapids and Rock Valley.

In 1953 they moved to Hull where he became operator of the Hull Bakery, retiring in 1963. In October of 1990 he became a resident of Pleasant Acres. Mr. Pitlo was a member of the Neth. Ref. Church of Rock Valley.

Survivors include his wife, a son Johannes Marinus Pitlo of Bellevue; a daughter Janice Keller of Sioux Falls SD and two grandchildren Desmond and Kathleen Keller. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
