Mrs. Ben Ter Hark former area resident, died last December 18.

Mrs. Gertrude Ter Hark, former area resident, died last Friday, December 18, in the Orange City Municipal hospital.

Mrs. Ter Hark had been suffering from cancer.

Funeral services were held Monday in the First Reformed Church in Orange City with Reverend H. Colenbrander and Reverend William Ooms presiding. Reverend and Mrs. Harley Heckman furnished special music.

Pallbearers were Steward Ter Hark, Joe Ter Hark, Jim Mouw, Marvin Mouw, John De Groot and Arthur De Groot. Interment was made in the Orange City Cemetery, with the arrangements by the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ter Hark was born on November 19, 1895, in this area. She was the daughter of Herman and Hattie (Wielenga) Mouw. She served as matron at the Pioneer Home for many years.

For the past ten years she has been residing in Worthington, Minnesota.

Her husband, Ben Ter Hark preceded her in death in 1956.

Surviving relatives include two step-daughters and four stepsons. Also surviving are four sisters and three brothers.
