Find A Grave lists Peter E. Vermeer born 24 Mar 1884 Alton IA died 24 May 1967 buried in Memory Gardens Sioux Center IA. His parents were Evert Jacobs and Heintje Vermeer. Wife Rena Vermeer, children Bernard Eugene Vermeer, David Elmer VerMeer, Elrich Vermeer, James Vermeer, Edith Campbell, and Harold Evert Vermeer.

Rites Held Saturday For P. E. Vermeer Funeral services were hold at the First Reformed church here at 10 a.m. Saturday for Peter E. Vermeer, 83, lifelong resident of Sioux Center community and prominent retired farmer, who died suddenly and unexpectedly Thursday morning at the farm homo of his son, Harold.

He had been up and around until shortly before his passing. He had mentioned upon arrival at his son's home that morning that he was not feeling up to par. He stretched out on the living room coach to rest and moments later slipped quietly away. Services were conducted by the Rev. .Jack Boerigter and burial was made in the Sioux Center community cemetery under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Home.

Mr. Vermeer was born at Alton March 24, 1884. He was married to Rena Borgman March 16, 1910 at Sioux Center. She preceded him in death in 1958.

Survivors include four sons, Harold and Bernard, both of rural Orange City, James of Arlington, Va., and Elrich of west of Sioux Center; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Campbell of Sioux City; five sisters, Mrs. Henry DeBoer, Mrs. Asa Mullenburg, Mrs. Henry Ramaker, and Mrs. Albert Ramaker, all of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Mol of Grundy Center.
