Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull for James Van Veldhuizen, 92, of Hull who passed away Tuesday, June 2, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull with the Rev. B. J. Haan officiating.

James was born October 10, 1899, at Maurice, the son of Jon and Effie (Van Der Vliet) Van Veldhuizen. He married Helena Vander Zwaag at Hull Feb 115, 1928. They farmed at Inwood, Rock Rapids, Hull, Carmel and then Hull again. In 1965 the retired into Hull

In January of 1991, Van Veldhuizen joined his wife at Pleasant Acres. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull and had served as a director of the Lincoln Township country school.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Effie and her husband, William Brands of Hull, and Joan and her husband, Milton Vander Schaaf of Hardwick, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Henry of Sanborn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, two great-granddaughters, four brothers and four sisters.
