Viola Meyn age 98 of Sheldon, IA formerly of George, IA died Wednesday May 22, 2019at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15th at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA with Pastor Sarah Deutsch officiating.

Jurrens Funeral in George is in charge of arrangements.

Viola Lena Lichtenberg was born January 4, 1921 to Otto and Ella (Hinsch) Lichtenberg in Pipestone, Minnesota. She attended Country School and was raised on her grandparent’s farm near Hull, Iowa.

Viola was united in marriage to Bill Meyn in 1943 in Pipestone, MN. To this union, a daughter was born. They made their home in George, Iowa.

Viola was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in George. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She will be remembered for having a lot of faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judi (David) Tjepkes of Gowrie, IA; three grandchildren, Steve (Julie) Tjepkes, Brett (Jen) Tjepkes, and Mike (Mary) Tjepkes; seven great-grandchildren, Collin (Molly) Tjepkes, Brandon, Derek, Leah, Elaine, and Connor Tjepkes, and McKenna Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Meyn; brother LeRoy (Bud) Lichtenberg; sister Hilda Schuett; and infant great-grandson Bradley Michael Tjepkes.
