VanSchepen, Alice (Mrs. Alfred) 1915-1999

Alice was born July 16, 1915, near Chandler, Minnesota , the daughter of Jacobus and Maria (Vander Vliet) Verbrugge. She was raised at Hillcrest Farm near Chandler and moved with her family to Edgerton, Minnesota, in 1935. She married Alfred Christian Van Schepen on April 22, 1955, in Edgerton. The couple farmed near Ireton and moved into Ireton in 1987. She entered Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in January 1999. She was a member of Christian Reformed Church. She was active in the church and Ireton Christian School.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Fred and Laura of Orange City and Marlin and Karen of Edgerton; five grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Vedder of Milaca, Minnesota, and Nellie Christians of Edgerton ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers. James, Nick, John. Cornelius and Frank Verbrugge; and three sisters, Grace Vander Lugt. Marie Dykstra and Elizabeth Verbrugge.
