Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church at Sheldon at 1:30 p.m. November 29 for William Vande Garde 73, of Sheldon, who died Nov 27 at the Veteran’s hospital in Minneapolis.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Harris VerKaik and burial was made in East Lawn cemetery at Sheldon.

Mr. Vande Garde was born Jan 25, 1896 at Boyden IA. He was married to Kathryn Dykstra at Hull, March 18, 1919 . He was a World War I veteran.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Brinkman and Mrs. Adrian Kraai both of Sheldon and eight grandchildren.
