Monday afternoon Johannes Van Dalfsen died at the age of 84 years and 4 months. The funeral was Thursday mid day at 2 o’clock at the home where Rev. Van Dyke officiated. The deceased arrived in 1883 with his family to America and lived at Orange City, after which he lived in LeMars until May 1917 when they came to live here. Van Dalfsen suffered from rheumatism for 25 years.

Four children survive him - Bert Van Dalfsen of Evertt Wash.; Mrs. E. Vander Berg from here, Mrs. P. Vande Plaats of Bejou MN and Andrew Van Dalfsen of here.

He married Elizabeth Wendel Jan 9, 1860 in Genemuiden Overijssel Neth. They had seven children. He died Nov 12, 1917 Sioux Center, IA. Children – Lambert 1861-1936, Sintiena Mrs. Epke Vander Berg 1864-1944, Trijntje 1866 – 1950 Mrs. Peter Vander Plaats, Dirkje 1870 – 1876, Andrew Van Dalfsen 1873-1952, baby dau 1876-1876, Jan VanDalfsen 1882-, His wife Elizabeth Wendel died Oct 20, 1917 Sioux Center.
