Sarah Elizabeth (Ross) Stutzman was born at Lima, Ohio, September 13, 1857 and died at Boyden, Iowa, May 28, 1937 at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 15 days.

When a small child she moved to Iowa where she lived for many years. In 1905 she and her family moved to Dakota where she lived until coming to Boyden eight years ago, when failing health forced her to give up her home at Winner, South Dakota. Since that time she has resided with her daughter, Mrs. Josie Stutzman. Besides this daughter, a son, J.W. Lewis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Harry Stutzman and Marvin Stutzman of Boyden, were at her bedside when death came to relieve an illness which had extended over a period of six years.

Mrs. Stutzman was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Winner, South Dakota, and an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Winner, South Dakota for the past twenty-five years, and she was most happy when working in some department of the church.

Surviving her are Mrs. Josie Stutzman; a son, J.W. Lewis of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Harry and Marvin Stutzman of Boyden and seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held in the United Presbyterian Church Monday, May 31, at 2 P.M. and conducted by the pastor, Reverend J. S. Pollock, with interment in the Boyden Cemetery.

Note: Ancestry stated that her husband was Fredrick Stutzman and he died June 4, 1925 at Winner, South Dakota.
