Born: March,1875
Died: 1921

Frank Stoffel, a former well known Le Mars man, died early Thursday morning at the Mitchell Hospital, Mitchell, South Dakota. Death was caused by typhoid fever or what is believed might be ptomaine poison. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Alton.

Deceased was a native of Luxemburg and came to the United States when a child. His parents settled in Sioux County, where he lived the early years of his life and received his education.

He was married July 12, 1899, at Hawarden to Miss Elizabeth Bockelman. He farmed southwest of Le Mars for a time and for five years at Salem, South Dakota.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stoffel. He is survived by his wife and four children: Henry, Salem, South Dakota; Louisa, Anna and Frances at home.

Mrs. Stoffel is at Mitchell very ill, having been attacked by the same mysterious disease that carried away her husband. Other members of the family who were home at the time were also taken sick. Physicians stated that something the family eaten might have contained bothinus or ptomaine poison.
