Mr. and Mrs. H. Den Hartog, Sr., and son, Henry and family went to Orange City Monday to attend the funeral of Steve Starkenburg, who died at his home in Orange City last Friday following an illness thought to have developed from his engagement in the World War.

The deceased was 42 years of age and leaves a widow, Katherine (Den Beste) Starkenburg and one daughter 8 years old, 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

The deceased was given a military funeral and a great number of relatives and friends were in attendance.

Note: Steve "Siebe" Starkenburg was born September 24, 1890, son of Jan and Aukje (Sipma) Starkenburg.
