Funeral services for Florence L. Stange, 74, of Rembrandt, were held Friday morning, September 12, 1975, at 10:00 from Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rembrandt with Pastor Lyle Nielsen officiating. Mrs. Waldo Woelber accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Roger Mickelson, sang “How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Pallbearers were: Robert Peters, Ronald Peters, Roger Peters, Gary Horbst, Larry Herbst and Dale Herbst. Honorary pallbearers were: Dennis Herbst, Duane Herbst, Allen Stange, Jeff Stange, John Stange, John H. Stange, Perry Stange and Tim Stange. Graveside rites were held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at 2:00 at Hull, Iowa. Silefort Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids had charge of the arrangements.

Florence Lyle Dean Stange, was born August 14, 1901, at Boyden, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ida Miller Dean. She attended school at Boyden and grew to womanhood. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. On July 2, 1917, she was united in marriage with John H. Stange and to this union was born nine children. The family had lived in western Iowa most of their married life, the last few years being in Rembrandt. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always enjoying doing things for her family and friends, especially loving the outdoors and working with her flowers and garden. Florence passed away at her home in Rembraant very suddenly Tuesday morning, September 9, 1975, at the age of 74 tears and 25 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and an infant son.

She is survived by her husband, John; five sons and their wives: Willis and Jerry of Rembrandt, Edwin of Merrill, Vincent of Buena Vista, Colorado and Clifton of Storm Lake; three daughters and their husbands: Mrs. Elmer (Bernice) Peters of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Darrel (Shirley) Shaver of Sioux City and Mrs. Merlin (Delores) Treometer of Merrill; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Louis and Ralph Dean, both of Nashua, Iowa; two sisters: Mrs. Ethel Booher of Pennillas Park, Florida and Mrs. Mabel Jenison of Boyden; a host of relatives and friends, who will cherish her memory.
