Mrs. Wilmina Oostenink Kooiker, age 96, of Hull, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, March 13, at 10:30am, at the American Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Steve Bierly will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Wilmina was born on June 17, 1922, in Nieuwkoop, The Netherlands, the daughter of Leonard and Marie (Van Dyk) Burggraaff. She moved to the United States with her family in 1927. They settled at Boyden, where she attended school through the eighth grade.

On January 5, 1944, she married Richard Henry Oostenink in rural Boyden. They farmed northeast of Hull, where she was a homemaker. Richard passed away in August of 1976, at Sioux Center, after 32 years of marriage. She then moved into Hull.

In August of 1991, she married Arthur R. Kooiker in Hull. They continued to live in Hull. Later, she moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. “Art” passed away on October 22, 2013, in Sheldon, after 22 years of marriage.

“Mina” was a member of the American Reformed Church. She served as a foster grandparent at Hope Haven in Rock Valley.

She enjoyed collecting dolls and making quilts. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Oostenink, and his wife, Joyce, and James Oostenink, and his wife, Alethea, all of Hull; and Robert Oostenink, of Sioux Falls; a daughter-in-law, Lois Oostenink, of Waukee; nine grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; three step-children, three step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Burggraaff and June Broek.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Dennis Oostenink; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Oostenink; three brothers, Richard, Arie, and John Burggraaff; a sister, Effie Henning; and three step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the church building fund.
