Mrs. John Spoelstra who had been suffering from illness for some time, died Wednesday afternoon at the age of 70 years [sic]. Effie (Grasmeyer) Spoelstra had been a resident of Hospers for many years, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harry Mouw of Sheldon, and two sons, Reverend Spoelstra of Rushmore, Minnesota, and Ed Spoelstra, also by a brother, Mr. Grasmeyer of Fulton, Illinois, as well as by hosts of friends in this community.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Reformed Church by Reverend Stegeman Saturday and interment was made beside the remains of her husband, at the Presbyterian Cemetery.
